We are Kirk and Francelle, a couple of almost retirees slow traveling around the world and appreciating the art and beauty of cultures near and far. Welcome to Life on Vaca. If you’d like to reimagine the rest of your life experiences you’ve come to the right place.
We decided to downsize our beautiful American lifestyle and travel the world slowly.

It took us the better part of two years to sell, donate and consolidate everything we owned, including our dream home in Louisiana. Yea, it was a sweet life.
We fully enjoyed raising our kids, loving our family and friends and running a design business since 1991.
We’re both graduates of LSU, go tigers, As are our three amazing, adult children, who have their own families now.
Our hearts are full with memories of our home state of Louisiana. The family traditions, the delicious food, the unique culture and the creative spirit are all things we love about living in the south.
We’ve always enjoyed traveling. In fact, our love for travel is one of the main things that connected us back in the 80’s. History and art, architecture… anything creative.
Those experiences have primed us to be resilient, resourceful, and interested in discovering what other parts of the world are like.
Now we’re ready to slow travel the world, and share our experiences with anyone who’ll listen.
Our plan is to take a deep dive into exploring different cultures, lands, and people as we travel the world on a reasonable budget… Offering tips and tricks we discover along the way.
It’s a journey we’ve dreamed of all our lives. We’ve always loved to travel to exotic locations on “vacations” , for two or three weeks at a time.
This is a little different.
Now we finally have the time to really immerse ourselves in a place and get to know what makes it special.
We cannot wait to share our adventures with all of you, and connect with our community of like-minded people.
Our journey will incorporate new experiences for a couple in their 60’s, who are semi-retired, digital nomads.
We’re going to present things from an inquisitive mindset with an eye for design and an artistic viewpoint.
It would be our honor for you to subscribe to our YouTube channel. Whether you’re thinking of traveling yourself or you need a break from the status quo. Join us on our travels.
